UNEMPLOYED GRADUTES

Define Social Entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurship is the process by which individuals, startups and entrepreneurs

develop and find solutions that directly address social issues. A social entrepreneur,

therefore, is a person who explores business opportunities that have a positive impact
on their community, in society or the world. It’s the process of recognizing and

resourcefully pursuing opportunities to create social value. Social entrepreneurs are

innovative, resourceful, and results oriented.

Introduction

Nowadays, unemployed graduates is one of the common problem in our country and

being over populated is one of the reason, especially when the COVID-19 or the

pandemic started where all of us are limited to go outside and we are not allowed to go

on a crowded places. Some of the companies are closed and some does not need more

employee due to pandemic.

Related Literature

One of crucial assumption is that unemployment of graduates is to have the component

of development. Just because universities in the Philippines produced thousands of

graduates each year means they are take on available job. While it’s understandable

that they have minimal experience, many of such graduates on qualify on basic

requirements posted job vacancies. The rapid increase of graduate’s unemployment in

the past year is a clean indication of the fact that development is not accumulating in

Philippines.

According to labor leaders a million of a newly graduates are facing unemployment or

poor working condition due to job skills mismatch, short-term contractual work, low
wage and unsafe workplace. This year, more than 1.6 million students will from 200

state-run higher education institutions nationwide, according to government media,

further worsening the country's job situation.

Background of the Case (summary)

Most of the unemployed in the Philippines are fresh graduates. But a significant ratio of

them also are workers who were retrenched from their jobs or whose employment

contracts were not renewed. From the 3.8 million unemployed, 34.7% belong to the

youth sector or those aged 15 to 24. Going by educational attainment, 23.9% of the

unemployed are college graduates, while 26.4% are junior high school graduates. Some

of the common causes why graduates are still unemployed includes: • Outdated school

curriculum • Lack of quality graduates • Lack of skills and experience • Lack of

understanding about job application • Discrimination and unreasonable job • Poverty

Cycle • Rapid population growth

Statement of the Problem

What causes unemployment in the Philippines to rise despite the recently booming

growth? What policies can be recommended to achieve a lower unemployment rate?

What conclusions can be drawn from the empirical test?

Alternative courses of action(solution)

· Believe in yourself and compete for the available opportunity

· Sign up for Soft skills Development

· Target the Youth Entrepreneurship Venture Capital Fund

Recommendation (Approach)

Each year, we have over one million college student graduates here in Philippines. This

recommendation is not only for the government but also for us future entrepreneur. First

recommendation is the government most need to focus and prioritized the college

graduates who has unable to find a job so that they take action and create a job that

only Filipino netizens can apply. Example of this are tourism, agriculture and business.

Second recommendation, they shall need to decrease the number of technology. We

need to practice not to rely on technology or machinery more, instead of, we, humans

will do the work of machinery. Last recommendation, encourage entrepreneurship and

innovation as a way of creating new products and market demand which will generate

new employment opportunities.

Conclusion

Unemployed graduates is a serious issue in our economy. It creates negative affects to

unemployed as they are jobless and suffer from worse prospects to find new job and

those who are employed feel less secure to keep their jobs in future.

Future implications

A country with a large population doesn’t automatically have unemployment problems.

Opportunities can be built out of such situations. More babies born mean more jobs for
construction workers who build hospitals and schools. More jobs for nurses and

teachers who will take care and educate these children. More foreign businesses will be

set up because, with a large pool of cheap labor, it becomes cost-efficient to operate in

the country. Such desperation to get a job can sometimes make applicants more prone

to scams and fall prey to illegal recruiters, SMS, and Internet scams, further degrading

their lives.

According to the testimony from different school, a high unemployment rate affects the

economy in many ways. Unemployed people tend to spend less, may accrue more

debt, and unemployment may lead to higher payments from state and federal

governments for things like food stamps.

In order to address this problem, we entrepreneurs must create a jobs for the Jobless,

because usually investors here in our country are foreign people instead of us Filipinos

who should be blessed. We Entrepreneurs should think wisely let us encourage

everyone to create or build a business mindset not just for a short term but business

that will last.
