I. Directions: Read the paragraph and identify the word that matches with the
italicized word. Then write if the matched words are synonyms or antonyms

One day, Mario went for a walk down the street. He was hungry so
he stopped at a food stand and got a coconut juice and a native cake.
While he was eating and walking, he noticed some trees in the distance.
When he got to the trees, he decided to enter the field. He was a little
frightened at first, but then he saw some goats and wild flowers. He
kept walking and looking around and he felt adventurous and happy to
be there. He saw some terrific birds, cows, carabaos, and many
different kinds of plants that he had never seen before. It suddenly
occurred to him that if he walked any further he might get lost or,
worse yet, see a snake. So he decided to turn around and walk back
home, but right in front of him was the thing he feared – a fierce dog!
All he could think of to do was to run, and that is what he did. Mario
ran all the way home as fast as his legs could carry him. As soon as he
got home, he decided not to ever go alone in the field again.
