¨ SST HISTORIAN: The SST is looking for a member who enjoys history. This would not be
an official position but rather an opportunity for someone who would like to get involved and en-
joys recording and gathering historical items (i.e., photos, letters, etc.). This could be a fun hob-
by for a retired member who would be able to support this responsibility at their own pace.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2022—
OKTOBERFEST sponsored by the SSCT. Join us
for fun, games and prizes for the entire family. Doors
and the bar open at 5:00 p.m. A full Oktoberfest Din-
ner will be served from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. with wurst,
chicken, German potato salad, macaroni salad and
the sides. Music provided by the Bert Carson
Band. This is a fun family event you wont want to
miss. Tickets are $20 sold at the door or contact Toni
Reichmuth at 253-952-7826 for more info.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2022—HUNTING
SIGHT-IN DAY sponsored by the SSCT. The park
will be open for shooting to commence at 10:00 a.m.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2022—BUNCO MADNESS
sponsored by the SLS. There is no cost, except a
nominal fee ($5.00) to play BUNCO. There are usu-
ally a few who play JASS. This is a POTLUCK event
and coffee will be served, so come down and enjoy
some fun entertainment.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2022—114TH ANNIVER-
SARY LUNCHEON sponsored by the SLS. This
event will be catered and is free for all SLS members.
Guests will be charged a nominal fee (usually about
$15.00). RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED and
must be made no later than October 28, 2022 to any
SLS Board Member listed on Page #3 of this flyer.
Also, please, if your plans change let us know by can-
celling.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2022—RIPPLI DIN-
NER AND ENZIAN CONCERT sponsored by the
SST. Plans for this annual event are still in the plan-
ning phase. Both the SST and the SLEC are excited
to get back into the Swiss swing of things. When final
plans have been made an e-mail will be distributed to
everyone. So make sure your e-mail is on file (see
the note on page #1 on how to do that).
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2022—THANKSGIVING
SHOTGUN SHOOT sponsored by the SSCT.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: Sign-
up will begin at 9:20 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. for SSCT

a.m. Shooting will begin at 10:00 a.m.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2022—SLS ANNUAL
CHRISTMAS PARTY AND MEETING sponsored by
the SLS. Following the regular meeting, gifts will be
handed out. Gifts are of a nominal cost ($5.00, mini-
mum) and PLEASE ensure your name is on the gift
you bring as we draw names. Also, please if you
bring a child to the meeting ensure that you also bring
a gift for that child so they won’t feel left out.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2022—NEW YEARS
EVE CELEBRATION sponsored by the SSCT.
Entry will include a catered dinner, champagne
toast, party favors and live music to Rock-N-Roll
Magic. During band intermissions traditional Swiss
music will be played. Price and dinner menu are still
in the planning phase. This years chairmen are

to volunteer to help.

Letter From the SSCT President:
Gruetzi,
Wow! It was great to see everyone in full Swiss
Spirit at our Fall Schwingfest. What a fantastic turn-
out! Thanks to all of you that made this once again
an Epic Event. This tradition started some 95 years
ago with the vision and inspiration of our ancestors
and forefathers. It’s one we proudly continue to cel-
ebrate today and this year I’m sure our ancestors
would approve.
It takes a lot of work all year long to keep our park
looking great and to make this event a success. For
that, it makes me proud as a member to see every-
one come together and pitch in to make this all pos-
sible. From the Wednesday crew to the kitchen
crew. The bartenders and gate tenders. Musicians
and Schwingers and again especially to all of you
that traveled from far and near.
Thank you, also to all the families, and businesses
who contributed greetings, advertisements, and
sponsorships. Your support of the schwingers, golf
tournament and souvenir book are not only greatly
appreciated but a vital part of the support needed to
continue our events. Lastly, a special thank you to
Inderbitzin’ Distributors for their sponsorship of this
year’s Barbeque and to our Californian friends for all
their work in making this special evening possible.

As we close the year let’s not forget about our up-
coming events. The Oktoberfest is coming up fast.
Tickets are still on sale. This is sure to be a great
evening.
The New Year’s dance and dinner is also on the cal-
endar. Get your tickets early and remember you can
stay the night in an RV slot as well.
Once again, many thanks to everybody that partici-
pated and volunteered at the Schwingfest and all
year long!
As a Swiss Community we always remain, united as

aged 12 or older, of Swiss descent or married to a Swiss male. Life Membership
$100.00.

Swiss Ladies’ Enzian Choir (SLEC): Any women interested in Swiss song is
eligible to join. Contact any board member listed on page #3 for information on
practice dates, times and membership responsibilities.

Swiss Society of Tacoma (SST): A benevolent Society for men of Swiss

surnames. Life Membership: $200.00, after age 80, $350.00.

Swiss Sportsmen’s Club of Tacoma (SSCT): A sporting venue for Schwinging,

Shooting, and other various sporting events for men of Swiss descent or married
to a Swiss Miss. Life Membership $200.00. Junior members $100.00, with bal-
ance of $100.00 due upon the age of 18.
