Antonym Matching Activity

This document provides instructions for an antonym matching activity where students will turn over word cards and write down pairs of words that are antonyms of each other, such as fast and slow. The goal is to find antonym matches for all cards. Students are also asked to write a sentence using a pair of the antonyms and circle them. The activity helps students learn what antonyms are and practice identifying opposite word pairs.

Antonym Antonym Match

An antonym is a word having the opposite meaning as another word. Fast and slow are antonyms. Directions: Place all of the cards upside down. Turn two cards over and read the words. If the two words are antonyms, write them down and put the cards in a pile. If the two words are not antonyms, put the cards back and try again. Find antonym matches for all of the cards.
