(1) This Act may be called the Registration (Tamil Nadu Second Short te, Amendment) Act, 2021 ‘extent ond (2) extends to the whole of the State of Tamil Nod. (3) It shall come into force at once. After section 77 of the principal Act, the following sections shall be ineortog, namely:— “TT-K. (2) The power under sub-section (1) may also be exercised by the Inspector General of Registration. 7-B. Appeal (1) Any parson agorieved by an order of the Rosistrar ‘under sub-section (1) of section 77-A may prefer an appeal to the Inspector General of Registraion within thirty days ftom the date of cancellation of the document and the Inspector General of Registration shall pass an order confirming, modifying 0 eencaling the order of the Ragistrar, (2) In the cago of an order passed by the inepector General of Reglsiration under sub-section (2) of section 77-A, an appeal shall to the State Government witin thity days fom the date of the orden. 5, Alter section 81 of the principal Ac, the following sections shall be Inserted, namety-— “81-4. Penalty for registering documents in contravention of sections 22-A and 22-8.—(1) Every rgisteving officer appointed under this Act ‘and every person empoyed in his ofce for te purposes ofthis Act, who, being ‘charged with registering the doouments prosented fer registration under this Ac, registers documents in contravention of section 22-A or section 22-B, shall be punishable with imprisonmen for a term which may be extended to three years, ‘with fine, oF wth both (2) Nothing contained this seeton shall apply inthe case ofregisration of document made in good faith. Explanation.— For the purpose of this sub-section, the expression “good faith’ means any &ct believed or done by 2 person in good fait with due care, Js caution and sense of responsiblity orby mistake offact believing himself justified Cetiral Act XLV of by law under section 79 ofthe Indian Penal Code, 1960, 81-B.
