How to build a sentence

Most of the sentences that we write, read or say follow the same structure:

subject + verb + modifying words

Subject: it is the main character of the sentence, the person or thing that runs the action.
→ Sofia is studying for her English test.

Verb: it is the action developed in the sentence.

→ Sofia is studying for her English test.

Modifying words: we add them to make a more detailed sentence and talk more specifically about the
action. This usually forms the predicate of the sentence.
→ Sofia is studying for her English test.
