Other Conditions Where the air pipe head is intended to be installed on a ship classed or


intended to be classed with LR, the following conditions are applicable: -
1) The air pipe head is not to be used for venting of cargo oil tanks storing
flammable liquids having a flash point not exceeding 60°C (closed cup test).
2) Its position is to be indicated on the airpipe arrangement plan which is
submitted for approval.


3) The installation and maintenance are to bein accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
4) Flow characteristic curves are to be available to the users.
5) To prevent blocking of the air pipe head openings by their own ball floats
during tank discharges, the user is to consult the manufacturer in determining
the size and number of the air pipe heads for individual applications.


6) Air pipe heads should not be fitted with a shut-off device, and acceptance
of use of the headHJQE450-DN450 having a shut-off device is to be separately
considered upon proposal for individual applications.

This certificate is not valid for equipment, the design, ratings or operating parameters of which have been varied

from the specimen tested. The manufacturer should notify Lloyd's Register Classification Society (China) Co Ltd of
any modification or changes to the equipment in order to obtain a valid Certificate.
