situations in an area of operation that could result in crime or property
damage and come up with strategies to prevent them.

2. What are the causes of crime, why do they happen?

Poverty High levels of stress

brought on by poverty
can motivate people to
steal, rob, or engage in
other aggressive
behavior.

Parental Neglect Parents who reject

their children have
some of thehighest
delinquency rates.

Lack of Self-Control People who lack self-

control are more likely
to be impulsive,
insensitive, physically
risk-taking, short-
sighted, and
nonverbal, which
makes them more likely to commit
crimes and other
similar behaviors.

Alcohol makes people

Alcohol more irritable and
angrier, which
increases the
likelihood that they will
desire to harm
someone else.
Drug Abuse
Domestic violence,
sexual assault, suicide
attempts, and other
aggressive behaviors
may rise as a result of
substance misuse.

3. How does the Philippine government prevent the rising of cases of crime?
The Philippine government prevents the rising cases of crime by
implementing laws such as stricter gun control laws and the Republic Act
1951. Juvenile delinquency prevention programs, and general police-
initiated crime prevention efforts were also initiated to reduce the
opportunities for crime.
