7.1 Cleaning
7.1.1 General
Danger of electrocution!
The Tower System contains parts that carry mains voltage and have
electronics that are sensitive to humidity. Therefore never clean it with
spray water or a dripping wet cleaning cloth!
Risk of damage!
Never use abrasive cleaners (e.g. steel wool, scouring pads, metal
brushes) or cleaning agents that contain aggressive or chemical
components or solvents (e.g. petroleum solvents).
7.1.2 Automatic capsule dispenser
• Wipe off the automatic capsule dispenser with a damp cloth once a month.
Clean inside of front • The front door is made of tempered safety glass and can be cleaned with a mild,
door only with a dry nonabrasive commercial window cleaning solution.
duster. Do not touch
printed circuit boards!
7.1.3 Coffee machine
The coffee machine is the part of the Tower System that demands periodic and careful
cleaning in the first place.
Inform customer that daily cleaning and maintenance of the coffee machine
is of utter importance, especially for the CS 220 cappuccinatore unit.
Refer to user and service manual of coffee machine for detailed cleaning
instructions.

8.2 Repair and mounting tips
These general advices are completed with specific repair tips in this chapter.
Additional information
For components not mentioned in this repair chapter, refer to the exploded drawings in
chapter "Exploded drawings base cabinet" on page 97.
Designation of spare parts
The components in the following illustrations are indexed with position numbers.
See separate spare parts list for corresponding spare part numbers.
Screw connections
Do not overtighten screws. Plastic threads and inserts are delicate.
Wiring arrangement
Random changes in the wiring arrangement during a repair can cause
electromagnetic interferences that interfere with the card reader,
squeezed wires and insulation defects.
Protective measures
• Do not change the course of internal wiring during repair.
