INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS APPEARING FOR FALL2019-20 THEORY FAT

General Instructions
 You need to WEAR Student IDENTITY CARD during the ENTIRE Examination Period.
 The ID card should be with the proper tag. Exchange of ID cards or Tags is treated as Malpractice.
 If you have misplaced or forget to bring your ID card to the Examination Hall, Report to the
Control Room of your test venue (SJT G01 / TT 201 / SMV G21) to get One Time Permit Slips. You
need to pay Rs. 100 for it through ATM Debit cards.
 You will not be permitted to use toilet/washroom during the examination, so be prepared.
 Exchange of Calculators, Stationaries, Code Books, etc., are not Permitted.
 The code Books or standard tables to be used in the examination hall should have been verified
and signed by the faculty concerned or the School concerned. No markings of any kind should be
found in such booklets.
 Smart Watches (including fitness bands) of any kind, Programmable calculators are prohibited in
the exam hall.
A. Pre-Exam Activities
1 Report yourself half an hour prior to the scheduled start time of the exam to the assigned venue.
The details of seating arrangement (Building, Room Number and Seat number) can be viewed from
the V-TOP students’ login. For the debarred course(s) seating arrangement will not be displayed.
Please note that you will not be permitted to enter the Exam hall if you are late by 15 min or
more.
2 Bring proper ID card and necessary stationery items.
3 Possession of un-authorised material, even if you do not intend to use it will be considered as
malpractice.
B. During the exam (Paper Mode)
1 Candidate has to sit in the allotted seat only. Listen to the invigilator and follow their instructions at
all times. Strict Silence should be maintained in the examination hall. This rule is applicable to both
invigilators as well as students.
2 Check the class number in the Question paper with the Attendance sheet Class Number. If you
have not received the right question paper or incomplete or badly printed, please contact the
invigilator.
3 Read carefully and follow the instructions printed on the question paper and also in the answer
booklet.
4 Fill required details (Register No., Course Code, Course Title etc.) in the answer booklet before you
start writing the test. After signing in the attendance sheet, check the barcode sticker pasted on
your answer booklet for its correctness as your answer booklets will be scanned for valuation
using this barcode only.
5 First clearly write the Question number in the space provided and then start writing your answers.
USE BLUE / BLACK PEN ONLY for writing the Answers. Writings on any light colours may not be visible
on the scanned images used for evaluation. Remember to write the answers within the space
provided in the answer booklet. If you write anything outside the margin, it will be cut during the
scanning process. If you are using extra sheets like graph sheets / templates given by faculty, write
your registration number alone on top left edge outside the margin and keep it immediately after the
first sheet. Do not fold it as it needs to be scanned for valuation. Do your rough works in the last page
of main answer booklet itself. Before finishing the exam, strike out all the rough works.
6 Don’t write anything in the question paper or in your hand or leg.
7 Correcting pens, fluid or tape and erasable pens are not to be used for corrections in the answer
booklet.

8 Do not discuss / borrow anything with other candidates during the examination.
9 Do not get involved in any unfair or dishonest practice during the exam. If you try to cheat or
break the rules in any way, it will invite appropriate sanctions under malpractice.
10 Students are not allowed to ask question of any kind during the examination. Invigilators have been
instructed not to answer any enquiry whatsoever relating to the question papers, whether an
explanation or meaning or correction or typographical error.
11 On the day of the exam, if you feel that you are affected by ill health, please contact the Chief
Superintendent or Invigilator. You can write the examination at the Health Centre, if needed.
12 Do not leave the examination hall until told to do so by invigilator. You cannot leave the
examinations hall till 30 min from the start of the examination.
13 Do not take your answer booklets or unused one, from the examination hall. It is a serious
Malpractice.
C. During the exam (Exam PAD Mode)
1 Reach the hall 30 minutes before start time of the Test and ensure that you are able to login using
your biometric. Please note that you have to report at 9:00 am for FN Session and 2.00 pm for AN
Session respectively.
2 If you have any difficulty with respect to the usage of device, kindly contact the invigilator.
3 No time extension will be given for any reason. If the device doesn’t work, the time loss will be
automatically included in the new device.
4 Candidate has to sit in their allotted seat only. Listen to the invigilator and follow their instructions

C. If booked under Malpractice
1 Be calm and give a written response to the allegation and follow the instructions from the
Invigilator/ Asst. CS/Chief Superintendent
2 Do not indulge in any disrespectful activities such as shouting/ creating a scene that leads to a
disturbance in the examination hall.
3 Hand over the materials and get a receipt for electronic devices. NON-COOPERATION WILL BE
VIEWED AS AN ACT OF INDISCIPLINE WHICH MAY INVITE SEPARATE DISCIPLINARY ACTION.
