5 Basic Troubleshooting - troubleshoot basic software and hardware problems

common in digital learning environments.

_____________________________________________________________________

The artifact is an Internet Lesson Plan created in course ITEC 7430. I created a lesson
for my students to use a digital learning environment as we studied To Kill A
Mockingbird. This artifact uses basic software such as Podcast programs for my
students to teach others for their summative assessment. I had to co-plan with my
media center specialist to determine approved Podcast tools for student use and ensure
our hardware could support the use.

The artifact demonstrates my ability to troubleshoot potential software issues as I

worked with the media center specialist to determine any potential problems in
students using the Podcast. The artifact discusses how I identified an issue with the
software during the troubleshoot. The artifact shows my ability to address the
software problem as troubleshooting revealed an account creation and login issue.

In creating this artifact, I learned how important it is to troubleshoot your digital tools
and resources. By knowing how to troubleshoot common problems, I was able to
intercept potential issues before students attempted Podcasts. In order to improve this
artifact, I would add more interactive tools for the digital learning environment.

The work that went into creating this artifact impacted student learning. The artifact
allowed student control and facilitation of their digital learning environment. The
impact could be assessed by using a survey to gather how much control students felt
they had over their learning, how easy was the lesson to navigate, and whether the
digital tools and resources helped them in creating their assignment.
