DRUG NAME
ACTION/ CLASSIFICATION ACTION: It works by blocking the action ofr a substance in the body called cyclooxygenase. It is effective at relieving pain and inflammation. It work also by preventing the action of prostaglandins after they have already been formed. CLASSIFICATION: Anti- inflammatory, Analgesic
INDICATION / CONTRAINDICATION INDICATION: Systemic relief of rheumatoid arthritis, muscular pain, traumatic and dental pain; headaches of most etiology.
NURSING REPONSIBILITIES Asses pt. s pain before therapy Administer with meals, food or milk to minimize GI adverse effects. Advise client to notify physician if persistent GI discomfort, sore throat, fever, or malaise occur.
GI: nausea, GIT disturbances may eventually result in ulceration CNS: Drowsiness, dizziness
ROUTE: Oral
CONTRAINDICATION: Patients with inflammations in the intestines, peptic ulcers, or impaires liver or kidney fxn or who are pregnant.

ACTION/ CLASSIFICATION ACTION: Decrease fever by inhibiting the effects of pyrogens on the hypothalamic heat regulating center and by a hypothalamic action leading to sweating and vasodilation.
NURSING REPONSIBILITIES Used liquid form for pt. s who have difficulty of swallowing as ordered. Administer with food to prevent GI upset. Notify physician if any adverse reaction occurs.
ROUTE: Oral
Hematologic: Hemolytic anemia, neutropenia, leucopenia, pancytopenia. Hepatic: Jaundice Metabolic: Hypoglycemia Skin: Rash, urticaria

ACTION/ CLASSIFICATION ACTION: Inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, rendering cell wall osmotically unstable, leading to cell death
NURSING REPONSIBILITIES Watch out of adverse/side effect of drug. Explain the action or indication of drug to the folks, also the adverse effect/side effect. Perform ANST to know if his allergy to drug. Advice client to consult health care professional if rush occurs.

CONTRAINDICATION: Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin s and penicillin. Lidocaine or any other local anesthetic product of the amide type.
Leukopenia, serum sickness, anaphylaxis, phlebitis, rash, diarrhea. Rarely causes gastrointestinal problems or allergic skin reactions. Blood dyscrasia (e.g. thrombocytopenia), methaemoglobinemi a, and hemolytic anemia are very rare. A minority of the subjects with socalled aspirin intolerance responds to paracetamol with bronchospasms. It is not safely established if paracetamol can cause a nephropathy, like drug combinations containing phenacetin.
