London

The city that I would like to talk about is called London. Is the capital and largest city of
England and the United Kingdom. The city stands on the River Thames in the south-east of
England, at the head of its 50-mile (80 km) estuary leading to the North Sea.
London is an amazing city, but it has also a lot of disadvantages when it comes to what is it
actually like to live there and how people spend their time. For instance, the city is very
crowded, especially in the morning and on vacations because of the tourists. The weather is
also very unstable, with very hot rainy summers and very cold winters. As I said a lot of
tourists come to London, it is the most visited city in Europe. It has a rich history and some
of the most outstanding culture on the planet. You can see and do so many things here. You
can visit Westminster and Westminster Abbey which are home to the Houses of Parliament,
you can see the famous clock tower, Big Ben or you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful
Landscape of London either from London Eye, either from Sky garden. You can visit popular
streets like Oxford Street or Baker Street or go to Madame Tussauds. You can also try the
specific meals there, like Fish&Chips or the English breakfast or brunch, which are all very
tasty.
As I said London is very crowded and that is because here live around 8.9 million people.
Most people here (about 30%) work in public admin, education & health, second come the
people that work in retail, hotels and restaurants (19%), in finance & business work about
17% and in transport and communications work about 9%.
London has one of the most evolved public transports in the entire world. London’s iconic
double-decker buses are one of the most used methods of transport, as is the London
Underground, the Docklands Light Railway, the river bus services, local trains. I can tell you
from personal experience that the underground and buses is always crowded in the
morning and noon because the people go to school and work this way so that they avoid
traffic.
One of the most common stereotypes of British people is that they are unfriendly and
unwelcoming to foreigners. In reality, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Britain is a
multicultural society and British people are welcoming of every culture and creed. London is
a growing city with a population of more than seven million. People have come from all
parts of the world to live here. They have brought with them different ways of living and
colorful festivals. London is a multicultural city, as it has been since the Roman times. Now
about a quarter of the capital's inhabitants are members of the ethnic minorities.
I like a lot of things about London. I like that there are so many attractions, so many things
to do and to try, you can never get bored of living there.
As we all know, London is full of famous people. I think everybody knows about the royal
family and about Queen Elizabeth II, but besides them a lot of singers actors and import
people were born there, like: Dua Lipa, David Bowie, George Michael, Elton John, Robert
Pattinson, Tom Holland, Adele and others.
I really like this city and I would recommend people to go there and visit it especially for all
of the attractions and interesting stuff, like for instance I got the chance of seeing the royal
family, but I would not recommend going there on tourist season, because it would be too
crowded, and you couldn’t do so many things. Also, I would not recommend visiting the city
in winter, it’s very cold and you could miss out so many things, like a boat ride on the river
Thames.
