Chalk Fireworks

You will need:

• Black card
• Chalk pastels
• Pot of water
• Pencil

1) First, use the pencil to draw curving lines to show where

your fireworks will be on the black card.

2) Next, dip a chalk pastel into the pot of water and hold it
in place for a few seconds. This will soften the chalk.
Use the wet chalk to draw over the pencil lines for your
firework.

3) Repeat Step 2 with different coloured chalks, adding

more lines to your firework drawings.
We have used two or three colours for each firework.

4) Use a white chalk pastel to add an smaller starburst

shape in the middle of your colourful firework.

 5) Finally, dab the white chalk pastel to add small sparks
around the background.
