Step 2 Disconnect the connector of the sensor, from the EC or PVC wiring hamess. resonant Stop 3: Turn the key switch ON and select the OC volt- ye ‘age range on the voltmeter. Connect the posi- omg tive (+) probe to terminal No.1 and the negative probe (-) to terminal No.3 of the harness side oroseso0s Connector to measure the voltage. The voltage must be 54.0.5. Volts. 1 the voltage is within specitication, continuity between terminal No.1 and No.3 is OK. Go to step 6. Step 4: if the voltage is not within specification, connect wor 8522006 the positive (+) probe to terminal 1' and the negative probe (-) to ground and measure volt age. W the voltage is within specification (50.5 Volts), continuity between termilnat No. 1 and controller (PVC or EC) is OK. Stop 6: Solect the resistance range on the voltmeter. Connect the positive (+) probe to terminal 3 and the negative probe (-) to ground and mea- sure resistance. Resistance must be 0 ohms. HW resistance is correct, the wiring hamess is OK. If resistance is coohms, a disconnected wiring hamess or a failed EC/PVC is indicated. ‘Step 6: Connect Dr. EX. Select the monitor function for the circuit being tested. Install a jumper wire between terminals 1 and 2 to cause a short cir- cuit. WW the bar graph on Dr. EX displays maximum figure of the sensor, the wiring harness to the terminal 2 is OK, NOTE: If terminals No.1 and No.3 are connected by mistake, fuse No. 2 for the EC or No.7 Terese for the PVC will blow out.
