INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Events industry comprises of various small-scale or large-scale corporate or

personal events such as festivals, formal parties, concerts, exhibitions, conferences,

seminars, and others. The events industry includes event planning and event

management that comprises of site selection, budgeting, scheduling, and others.

Companies or businesses that want to promote their brand and products may

require the services of event organizers to handle their corporate events. Businesses

of all sizes can use them to solicit new business, build a brand image, and retain and

build loyalty with existing suppliers and customers.

Event organizers' market presence is inevitable, especially in this age of

technology, because most businesses present their products and services to the

market through the use of the world wide web or the internet. Part of the internet is

the social media platforms that every individual use either for entertainment or

business-related transactions and more. However, there are disadvantages using

these platforms if not manage well and may affect the profitability of the events

organizer as well as other business.

Therefore, the impact of using social media platform as a form of

communicating products/services leads the researchers to further conduct a study

on how it affects the profitability of event organizers.


Statement of the Problem

1. What is the level of impact of social media to the profitability of event

organizing?

2. Is Social Media an effective marketing platform

3. Is the service more profitable when using social media as a marketing

platform.

Research Objectives

This study aims to determine the impact of social media marketing to the

profitability of event organizing services in Mati City.

Specifically, it aims to kuan the following:

1. Determine the effectiveness on the use of social media platforms in attracting

potential clients.

2. To know the impact of social media platform to the business and their

employees.

3. To measure the return on investment of event organizing in marketing through

social media platform.


Significance of the Study
