2. Function DO 10.. command stations are used to operate digital web guiders.
The command stations consist of:
- operator panel RT (aluminum front panel with membrane key-
board and digital display)
- CAN controller central unit ZC 4002
- CAN bus adapter EK 4011
- and a cover or desktop enclosure
The DO 1000 command station with cover is designed for mounting
in a control console or cabinet, the DO 1001 command station with
desktop enclosure for field mounting.
The DO 1000/DO 1001 command stations are connected to the RK
control card of a web guider via a CAN bus line. Command station
DO 1002 is connected to the multifunction command DO 0022 via
the serial bus.
Operator panel RT 40.. only is used for the DR 226. and DR 246.
web guiders and is connected directly to the RK control card via the
serial bus.
3. Mounting Try as far as possible to mount the command station on your system
within view of the web guider.
On web guiders DR 226. and DR 246., operator panel RT 40.. is
already mounted on the web guider. Use the E+L securing kit for
DO 1001.
4.1 Address setting If the DO command station is part of a digital controller designed
by E+L no settings must be made. The DO command station is

4.2 Connection to E+L The DO command station is connected to a E+L controller via a CAN
controllers bus (see illustration below).
➜ Connect the CAN bus according to the connection diagram and if
necessary, plug in the terminating resistor connector
➜ Run electrical leads according to the attached wiring diagram.
4.3 Connection to the multi- ➜ Link the serial bus to the multifunction command according to the
function command connection diagram and, if necessary plug in the terminating re-
sistor connector (see illustration below).
➜ Run the electrical leads according to the attached wiring diagram.

5. Keys and The keys and displays on the command station are arranged so that
symbols correspond to the arrangement of the control elements on
displays the web guider as seen from above and in relation to the direction of
web travel (see example below).

You can inhibit each individual key via parameter 7 (key filter) in
the setup editor, see settings section on page 10.

In automatic mode, the keys are used to offset the web. If both keys
are pressed together, the set web offset is cancelled.
When a RE 17.. operator panel is used the web offset keys have
no function in automatic mode.
A web offset is a electrical offsetting of the set position. The web set
position is offset during automatic mode. If voltage is supplied to the
controller stop input the web offset is stored and the web guider re-
mains in its most recent position. Once the controller stop contact is
re-enabled, guiding is resumed on the basis of the former set web
offset.
The display on the appropriate key goes on when the actuator
reaches its end position. The display flashes shortly before the
end position is reached.
Setup key
Various functions can be initiated or selected in conjunction with the
setup key:
a. setup mode, LED on the key flashes
b. expanded setup mode, LED on the key goes on
c. further functions depending on the sensor, camera or controller
implemented (see appropriate description)
The function of the setup mode, procedure on changing param-
eters and starting the initialization runs is explained in the "CAN-
Bus, serial bus and setup editor" description, in all system operat-
ing manuals and in the settings and special functions section.
Automatic key
When the automatic key is pressed the green display on the key
goes on. If the display flashes, the controller stop signal is available,
automatic mode is blocked.
The function of the automatic key depends on the setup settings in
parameters 15 and 32 of device X.5 (Master Device), see parameter
list. Automatic mode may be:
The web can be offset via the web offset/manual adjustment keys in
automatic mode.
Manual key
When the manual key is pressed the actuator can be moved to the
left or right within the guiding range via the web offset/manual adjust-
ment keys.
When the manual mode key is actuated the display on the relevant
key goes on. The display flashes While the web offset/manual adjust-
ment keys are actuated.
When the actuator reaches its end position the display on the ap-
propriate key goes on. The display flashes shortly before the end
position is reached.
7. Settings/special
functions
7.1 Basic operation in setup Setup settings should only be performed by qualified personnel.

rameter values can be changed. In expanded setup mode all param-
eter values can be displayed and changed (for commissioning and
service engineers).
To prevent incorrect operation and protect setup settings the setup
editor (setup and expanded setup modes) can be blocked (see 7.2).

(center position adjustment)
➜ Set the web guider to the desired center position in manual mode
using the "web offset" keys.
➜ Start the initialization run by pressing and holding down the setup
and then the center position key, let go both keys again. The ac-
tuator moves into its left and right end position and then stops in

Name field the abbreviation. The Default field indicates the standard
settings, Min. and Max. are the permissible limit values respectively.
The unit is indicated in the Unit field. The Description explains the
parameter function. If a dot (•) comes after the parameter number
this indicates that it is a display parameter, the value of which cannot
be changed.
