quarantine. New normal educational policy was taken into consideration, thus also developing some effective programs and interventions to
support children and young people going forward.

To begin with, this project would like to focus on the reading skills of each young children of BBES. As we all know children with learning difficulties
have the same psychological and characteristics as other children. Some of them who belongs to the group of slow learners are also the slow or
non-readers. Slow and non-readers many times isolates themselves and have behavioral problems. They perform poorly in all aspects because they
cannot read, comprehend and understand simple directions and often to give-up or just drop schooling.
In order that, BBES can provide extra instructional time to help children achieve levels of literacy at this most difficult time with the parent’s
intervention.
Enhancement Reading Program named SULONG PAGBASA SA PANAHON NG PAMDENYA is developed to help children of Buer-Bayaoas Elementary
School who have fallen behind and abrupt to learn to the best of their ability because of the pandemic. This also aims to bring back the children’s’
interest and love of reading rather than gadgets while on the process of being lockdown.

On the other hand, this project will also build Parent-Teacher relationship and partnership, essential for the development and educational
foundation of our children.

2. Enhance/develop the reading abilities of slow/non-readers.
3. Evaluate the improvement of the students’ reading proficiency.
4. Equip pupils with necessary reading materials.
5. Encourage a sense of personal responsibility for one’s own progress.
6. Inculcate that reading is a very essential habit.
7. Aims to educate parents on how to be a reading teacher at home.

IV. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT

There is a saying that ‘’HE THAT LOVES READING HAS EVERYTHING WITHIN HIS REACH”. It is a fact that reading is one of the most important
ingredients to reach what you want to become. Teaching young children to read helps them to develop the language skills. Most importantly,
helping them not only to become a better student but also to become a better person. It also gives them confidence to do things on their own as
to the knowledges they learn on their own readings. It also helps them to learn how to become a good listener.

So, the BBES family, especially the teachers intend to provide the full support to the project to enhance the reading ability of the pupils at the same
time promotes healthy independent reading habits even at the most difficult situation we are facing.

Thus, the major result of this project should realize to increase reading appreciation and complement the normal face-to-face classroom setting.

Each pupil will be guided by their parent or guardian using the necessary and appropriate reading materials provided by their advisers. All class
advisers serve as evaluator and monitors the improvements of their pupils through video call.
