HVAC
One of the initial projects chosen for the BEEP Integrated Design Charrette was Aranya Bhawan, an office
building for the Rajasthan Department of Forests in Jaipur. The charrette was held in December 2012. The
Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation Limited (RSRDC) carried out the project, which was launched
on March 23, 2015. To cool the building, a centralised, high-efficiency water-cooled chiller plant was used.
In comparison to an air-cooled system, it consumes less energy. This technology uses treated waste water
since Jaipur has a water shortage.

The process includes 4 major components:

● Compressor
● Condenser
● Evaporator
● Expansion valve

WORKING
MECHANISM

In the Cooling Tower , the water

is then circulated and heat is
released which brings down its
temperature to 27°C .

Green pipes brings the This cooled water is then circulated to the
water to the cooling
tower via primary pump. chiller plant where the water is passed
through compressor and then circulated
around the copper pipes inside
Silver pipes (foam Insulated) condenser. In this process, the
brings the water from cooling
tower to chiller plant
temperature of water is lowered down to
Primary Pump circulates the water (32°C ) to cooling tower.
6°C which is then pumped up to AHU
units via secondary pump.
AHU Units release cool air through the blower and pulls the hot air
and sends it back to the chiller plant where the cycle is repeated.
The temperature and intensity of cooling is
controlled by the no. of ducts according to the size Types of devices installed
of spaces.
