3. When should we do Paraphrasing and Summarizing ?
4. What is reference ?
5. What is quotation ?
6. When should we use reference and quotation ?

Answer :
1. Paraphrasing is presenting ideas and information in your own words and acknowledging
where they come from. By using your own words, you demonstrate your understanding and
your ability to convey this information.
2. Summarizing is considered as a process of taking information from a comparatively
longer chapter, theory, or write-up and creating a smaller version of it that covers all the
facts and main points of the original version. An example of summarizing is to write a three
to four sentence description that covers all the main points of a story or poem.
3. You will want to paraphrase or summarize when the wording of the source is less
important than the meaning of the source. The paraphrase and summary allow you to
maintain continuity of style in your paper and show your mastery of source material. A
paraphrase may be preferred to a summary because paraphrases are more detailed and
specific.
Again, you will want to paraphrase or summarize when the wording of the source is less
important than the meaning of the source. The paraphrase and summary allow you to
maintain continuity of style in your paper and show your mastery of source material. A
summary may be preferred to a paraphrase because summaries can provide a brief overview
of a text. The summary is very flexible. For example, you could summarize a book in a
sentence, or in several paragraphs, depending on your writing situation and audience.
4. Reference is the act of mentioning something in writing or speech to back up a statement
or source of information. See our cite term if you want to use Computer Hope as a reference
in your book, paper, or another document. When making a reference in writing, a reference
mark is placed after the quote, and the reference is placed in the footer. Usually, the
reference mark is an asterisk (*) or a superscript number. Below is an example of how a
reference may appear in a document.
5. Quatation is a phrase or short piece of writing taken from a longer work of literature,
poetry, etc. or what someone else.
6. Quoting is when you use the exact words from a source. You will need to put quotation
marks around the words that are not your own and cite where they came from. And we use
reference if quoting exact words directly from another’s work, using a famous quotation,
paraphrasing text written by someone else, summarising ideas or points from someone else’s
work, reprinting tables, charts, diagrams, data, statistics or pictures, and using someone
else’s idea.
