PERFORMANCE TASK #3

Agnatha Theory of Evolution

Organisms existed a million years ago in this world. Through time, they evolved
and eventually changed and transformed into new organisms. Humans have descended
from some other type of organisms whose young could survive without any help. Those
ancestors must be fish (agnatha), since fishes hatch from eggs and immediately begin
living with no help from their parents. Thus, all life began in the sea.

Organisms produce more offspring than are able to survive in their environment.
Those that are better physically equipped to survive, grow to maturity, and reproduce.
Those that are lacking in such fitness, on the other hand, either do not reach an age
when they can reproduce or produce fewer offspring than their counterparts. Those
most suited to their environment are the ones that reproduce most successfully and are
most likely to pass on their traits to the next generation.

The traits that enhance survival in that environment gradually changed and
evolved. This eventually transformed fish to human. Through time, the fish adapted in
the new environment. Additional body parts were developed in order to adapt with these
changes brought about by the environment.

Passing those traits, generation to generation, the modern human exists with the
developed skills and abilities to the challenging environment.
