2. PRESENTACIÓN

En un contexto globalizado donde ha surgido la necesidad de comunicarse eficazmente en una


segunda lengua, no solo con el propó sito de interactuar y conocer otra cultura, sino también
para desenvolverse y ser competitivo laboralmente hace que el aprendizaje de una segunda
lengua sea un eje central en la formació n de nuestros aprendices. El Sena y su política de
Bilingü ismo, tiene como objetivo principal el fortalecimiento de competencias bá sicas
comunicativas basando sus ejes temá ticos en los niveles establecidos en el MCER (Marco
Comú n Europeo de referencia para las Lenguas). Ademá s, brindando herramientas necesarias
que le permitan a nuestros aprendices desenvolverse en el mundo laboral donde el uso del
inglés con propó sitos específicos se brinde como complemento de la formació n técnica en
nuestros programas de formació n.

Buddy Valastro autobiography

Hello everybody! My name is Bartolo Valastro and I am a very famous baker. People call
me Buddy. I was born in New Jersey on the 3rd of March 1977. I am American but my
family is from a very traditional Italian family I live in Hoboken, New Jersey.

At the age of 17, my father died. My father’s first name was Bartolo too. Suddenly, I was
the only son and now I take on the responsibilities of my father. My family has run a
bakery since 1964 and together we operate this business. My mother Mary is very
important to me. She is my number one fan. We are five children: myself and my four
older sisters Grace, Madeline, Mary and Lisa.

We bake hundreds of elegant cakes for our clients. My favorite cake is double chocolate
cake. Our cakes are very popular in New York and people everywhere in the United States
love our traditional recipes.

My wife is Lisa Valastro and we have three children: Sofia (5), Buddy Jr. (4) and Marco
(2). When I am not working at the bakery, I love nothing more than spending time with the
family. I also love to bowl and to dance in my free time.
