PENNSYLVANIA

LOCATION
The Pennsylvania Colony was one
of the original 13 colonies located
on the Atlantic coast of North
America.

ECONOMY
Pennsylvania ecnonomy is based in
their main resources such as for
growing crops and raising farm animal.

FOUNDED BY AND WHEN

William Penn, who was also a writer, founded


Pennsylvania in December 12 in 1787.

WEATHER
In summer it was mainly hot as it reached an
average of 70 degrees F and in winter it was
cold as the climate often changes and the
temperautre is around the 16 degrees F. This
also has an impact on the people, agriculture and
the minerals they may find as caves form.

COLONISTS BACKGROUND
One of the 13 original colonies, it was founded by
William Penn in 1681 after he was grande land for
a debt King Chalres 2 owned his father. This
land/colony was the latter for the declaration of
independence.
GEOGRAPHY
The Colony of Pennsylvania had a mild
climate with coastal plains, plateaus and
mountains. Much of the land suited farming.

SOCIAL LIFE
Philadelphia was referred to as the 'Athens of
America' in colonial times for its rich cultural life. The
city grew prominent because of the freedom of
expression and open principles of Penn's Province.
Pennsylvania enjoyed a high degree of education and
intellectual interests due to this culture.

RELIGIONS
Since the time of William Penn, Pennsylvania has
been recognized for its religious diversity but half
of the populartion regards themselves as
religioues, with a majority being Protestant.

GOVERNMENT
General Colonial Government Structure
Instead of a king, there was a governor and the two
houses consisted of the Provincial Council and the
General Assembly, modeled roughly after the British
parliamentary structure...

MAJOR CITIES
The Pennsylvania Colony's major cities included
York, Lancaster, and Philadelphia.

DELAWARE

Location
Delaware was located in the middle
colonies being one of the first
colonies of the United States

Economy
It was mixed, its land made agriculutre profitable
which were mainly grain, rice and indigo. It also
profited from shipbuilding.

Founded by and when


It was founded by the dutch in 1631

Weather
It was warm summers and mild winters in the colony.
About 57% of its days throughout a year were
sunny.

Colonist backgroud
The Dutch founded the First European settlement
in Delaware in 1631. They quickly set up trade in
beaver furs with the Native Americans, who within
a short time raided ande destroyed the
settlement after a disagreement between them.

Government
Delaware has a cabinet form of
government,The General
Assembly, Delaware's lawmaking
body, is comprised of a State
House of Representatives, its
governor is John Carney.
Geography
Delaware in the east coast peninsula having a mild climate
having borders with bodies of waters such as rivers, bay &
the atlantic ocean

Major cities
Delaware mayor cities are Wilimington,
Dover & Newark

Social Life
It was mainly divided by three groups: the gentry
which were the rich and best educated, the middle
class that was mainly farmers and the lower class
who were sailors and apprentices.

Religion life
Major religious groups and the most influential
ones were religions such as Quakers, Catholics.
Jews, and Lutherans, none of this dominated
however as there was religious tolerance.
