SUBJECT: 5 MM WIDE BANDS AT 50 MM PITCH

SYMPTOM:
Bands approximately 5 mm wide appear in 50 mm pitch. See photo below.

CAUSE:
When servicing the PCDU, never remove the Black Plastic Plate from the metal frame of the PCDU (see
next page). Removing this plate could result in sharp bands that appear in 50 mm pitch as shown in the
photo above.

DETAILS:
A Spring Plate is assembled to the Black Plastic Plate to conduct electrical bias from the heat sink to the
Development Roller. Removing this Black Plastic Plate could bend the Spring Plate and disable proper
contact between the Spring Plate and the Heat Sink, resulting in the sharp bands in 50 mm pitch like those
seen in the photo on page 1.
