INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA


 

Eni (" Company ", " Eni " or the " Owner ") provides the following information regarding the
processing of your personal data as part of the selection process of your candidacy made
through the Taleo platform which is available through the Company’s “Careers” section of the
website www.eni.com, for open positions in one of the directly or indirectly controlled
companies and/or a company in which Eni owns a stake.

1. Identity and contact details of the Data Controller


This information is provided by Eni, to be understood, on a case by case basis, as the parent
company Eni SpA or other Group company acting as data controller (hereinafter the
"Company" or the "Owner"). The Data Controller can be contacted by writing to the following

2.  Contact details of the Data Protection Officer
The Company has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted at the
following e-mail address dpo@eni.com.
 
3.   Categories of personal data and sources
The personal data collected belongs to the following categories and can be collected directly.
 
a. Directly collected data
The Company may process data communicated directly by you through the CV and the
procedure itself through Taleo, such as so-called common personal data (such as personal
data, contact details, professional and/or personal experience, etc.).
 
During the selection process, you may be asked for audio and/or video recordings to check
the level of a certain foreign language or to pre-record an interview.
 
In any case, we invite you not to include in your CV and/or communicate to the Company
during the interview or recording of audio / video content data of a sensitive nature or
information from which such data can be inferred (e.g. relating to the state of health,
political opinions, sex life, etc.), except in cases where such information is strictly necessary
according to the law for the purposes of selecting and evaluating the CV (e.g. belonging to

4.  Purpose of the processing and legal basis of the processing

a. Legal purpose - processing necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which the data
controller is subject 
Personal data may be processed, without the need for your consent, in cases where this is
necessary to fulfill obligations deriving from legal provisions in both civil and fiscal matters,
community legislation, as well as rules, codes or procedures approved by Authorities and
other relevant Institutions. 
 
Furthermore, your personal data may be processed to respond to requests from the
relevant administrative or judicial authority and, more generally, from public entities in
compliance with legal formalities.
 
Data entry is necessary to allow compliance with regulatory obligations and any missing
data will make it impossible for the Data Controller to proceed with the selection of the
application at all stages of the selection process.
 
b. Purpose of recruiting and selecting personnel - Measures taken to respond to a request
from the interested party  
Your personal data will be processed for the carrying out of personnel recruitment and
selection activities in the interest of Eni and of the companies it directly or indirectly controls
or owns a stake in. In particular, such data may be used to send you organizational
communications relating to the selection or to activities connected to it (such as for example
e-mails relating to the outcome, information about the recordings of interviews and/or
language tests).
 
Data entry is necessary for operational or contractual reasons and any missing data will
make it impossible for the Data Controller to proceed with the selection of the application at
all stages of the selection process. This data will also be processed electronically, registered
in specific Company databases, and used strictly and exclusively for the purposes for which
they were collected.
 
c. Legitimate interest of the Data Controller 
The Data Controller may process your personal data without your consent in the following
cases:
- in the event of extraordinary merger operations, assignment or transfer of a business unit,
in order to allow the carrying out of the operations necessary to due diligence activity
and of strict relevance to the sale. It is understood that exclusively necessary data will be
processed for the aforementioned purposes, in as much of an aggregated/anonymous
form as is possible;       
- whenever it is necessary to ascertain, exercise or defend a right of the Owner or of other
companies falling within Eni's legally controlled perimeter.       
- anonymous and aggregated analysis of the use of the selection procedures in which you
have taken part, to identify habits and propensities, to improve the selection processes.

5. Recipients of personal data


For the pursuit of the purposes indicated in point 4, the Data Controller may communicate
your personal data to third parties, such as, for example, those belonging to the following
subjects or categories of subject:
- Police forces, armed forces and other public administrations, for the fulfillment of
obligations established by law, by regulations or community legislation. In such cases, in
accordance with the applicable data protection legislation, the obligation to obtain the
prior consent from the interested party for such communications is excluded;
- Companies, entities or associations, or parent companies, subsidiaries or associates, and
companies subject to common control, as well as consortia, business networks and
groupings and temporary associations of companies and with the subjects belonging to
them;
- Companies specialised in the selection of personnel on behalf of Eni S.p.A. and of the
companies directly or indirectly controlled or in which it has a stake;
- Other companies contractually linked to the Data Controller who carry out, by way of
example, the provision of IT services and maintenance of the Taleo portal, consultancy
activities, support for the provision of services etc.

The Data Controller guarantees the utmost care so that the communication of your personal
data to the aforementioned recipients only concerns the data necessary to achieve the
specific purposes for which they are intended.
Your personal data is stored in the Data Controller’s databases and will be processed
exclusively by authorised personnel. The latter will be provided with specific instructions on
the methods and purposes of processing. Furthermore, such data will not be disclosed to
third parties, except as provided for above and, in any case, within the limits indicated
therein.
Finally, we remind you that your personal data will not be disseminated, except in the cases
described above and / or as required by law.

6. Transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area (so-called EEA)
For some purposes indicated in point 4, your personal data may be transferred outside the
EEA, including by entering databases shared and managed by third-party companies that
are, or are not, part of Eni’s perimeter of control. The management of the database and the
processing of such data are bound to the purposes for which they were collected and are
carried out in full compliance with the standards of confidentiality and security, persuant to
the applicable personal data protection laws.
Wheneve your personal data is be subject to international transfer outside the EEA, the
Data Contgroller will take all appropriate and necessary contractual measures to ensure an
adequate level of protection of your personal data in accordance with the provisions of this
document in relation to the processing of personal data, including, among others, the
Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Data retention period

Data is kept for a period not exceeding that which is necessary for the purposes for which it
was collected or subsequently processed in accordance with the provisions of the law. In
particular, data will be deleted after a period of two years from the date of sending or the
last update made if no further contact is made by the Company following your application.
Conversely, in the event of contact, data will be delted after a maximum of five years from
the enda date of an unsuccessful selection process to allow the Company to evaluate your
application for other positions, unless your expressly request not to be considered.

8. Rights of data subjects


As a data subject, you are granted the following rights on personal data collected and
processed by the Data Controller for the purposes indicated in point 4: (i) the right of
access, in particular by requesting, at any time, confirmation of the existence of your
personal data held in the archives of the Company and the provision of such information in
a clear and intelligible manner, as well as the right to know the origin, logic and purpose of
the processing with the express and specific indication of the subjects authorised to process
and data processors and third parties to whom your data may be disclosed; (ii) the right to
obtain the updating and correction of data, (except for that which is evaluated) the
cancellation of superfluous data or the transformation into anonymous format, as well as
the blocking of processing and definitive cancellation in the event of unlawful processing;
and (iii) if the conditions are met, the limitation of data processing and portability. The law
also recognises the possibility of lodging a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority
for the protection of personal data, should it detect a violation of your rights under the
applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.
