Workshop: Domain and Range.
1. Graph the following functions going in Geogebra and indicate their domain and
range by looking at the graph. Add here the screenshots of the graphs, write
the domain and range, right here.
Note:
Ask yourself for the domain “What inputs I can not use in the function to get an
output?” and “What values of x are not in the graph?”
and to find the range think “What possible outputs do I get according to the domain?”
or “what values of ‘y’ are not found in the graph”?
If you need extra help, here is a video.
a. F(x) = 3x -2
Dom(f): {(− ∞, ∞)}
Ran(f): {(− ∞, ∞)}
b. F(x) = 𝑥 − 2 + 4
Dom(f): {[2, ∞)}
Ran(f): {[4, ∞)}

c. F(x) = 𝑥 - 2x
Dom(f): {(− ∞, ∞)}
Ran(f): {(− ∞, ∞)}

d. F(x) = (𝑥 − 4)
Dom(f): {(− ∞, ∞)𝑥 ≠ 4}
Ran(f): {(− ∞, ∞)𝑥 ≠ 0}
e. F(x) = 2𝑥 + 3
Dom(f): {(− ∞, ∞)𝑥 ≠ 4}
Ran(f): {(3, ∞)𝑥 ≠ 0}

f. F(x) = 3 - 4−2𝑥
g. F(x) = 5𝑥 − 5
