THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

About two months after the people of Israel left Egypt the Israelites arrived at
Mount Sinai, also called Horeb. It was the same place where Jehovah had spoken to
Moses in a burning bush.The people camped out and stayed there for a while.
While the people waited, Moses ascended the mountain. Upstairs, Jehovah told Moses
that he wanted the Israelites to obey him and make his people. After he came down,
Moses told the people what God wanted. and the people said they would obey Jehovah,
for he wanted to be His people. Jehovah then came to talk to the people, and then
did something strange on the hill, caused the ridge to start smoking and caused
thunder.
And then God said to the people: I AM YOUR LORD YOUR GOD, THE GOD OF ABRAHAM ISAC
AND OF ISRAEL, THE GOD WHO took YOU OUT OF EGYPT.
*YOU WON't WORSHIP OTHER gods IF NOT ME. *YOU WILL NOT MAKE IMAGES
OF SCULPTURE OR BOW BEFORE IT.
*THOU SHALT NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD THY GOD IN VAIN. *REMIND YOU OF
SATURDAY DAY TO SANCTIFY.
*HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER, SO THAT YOUR DAYS MAY LINGER UPON THE EARTH.
*DO NOT KILL. *WILL NOT TAMPER.
*NO FURTARÁS. *YOU WILL NOT SAY FALSE TESTIMONY.
*WILL NOT COVET.
The people were afraid because they feared hearing God's voice and eventually
dying. Then Jehovah said to Moses, "Come up to me, on
the hill. I'm going to give you two boring stones, which I've written the laws I
want the people to keep. End.
