According to your own experience:
1. How would you define the term competence?
In my personal opinion, the term competence is defined as the
capacity to respond to individual, or societal, in the classroom or
outside in order to perform an activity or complete a given task.
2. What is competency-based language teaching?
I think, CBLT is a language teaching focused aspect of
competency-based education. it is centered on having students
master specific skills that are related to real world task.
3. What strategies do you use to develop linguistic competencies in your
students?
To develop linguistic competencies in my students sometimes I
have to prepare carefully our speaking lesson. An oral lesson to teach
new items is often divided into 3 stages: presentation, practice and
production, usually preceded by a warming-up, that can go from the
simply writing the date on the board, to games as an ice-breaker or
a song as a preparation for the English class. Also, they practice
some short conversations with an easy vocabulary and phrases and
contextualizing the place we are teaching.
4. Do you know what the 21st century skills are? Can you mention some of
them?
This term is generally used to refer to certain core
competencies in or out the classroom such as: collaboration, critical
thinking and problem solving.
5. What are the differences between traditional Language teaching and
competency-based language teaching?
