Narrator (Grace):Once upon a time there was a small family, a stepmother and 2 sons,
namely Bawang Putih and Bawang Merah. One day Bawang Putih was washing clothes by
the river. Suddenly one of her mother's clothes washed away. With sadness and despair he
returned home and told the incident to his mother
Bawang Putih (damar): Mother I'm sorry, I accidentally washed away your clothes.
Stepmother (melisa): What do you say, you don't know yourself! Quickly look for that shirt,
don't go home before you find it.
Narrator (Grace): Bawang Putih searched the banks of the river. Then suddenly Bawang
Putih saw an old woman.
Bawang Putih (damar): did you see the clothes drifting around this river?
Aunt (melisa) : Oh, those clothes are yours? I saw it drifting a while ago.
Bawang putih (damar): thank you, I'll look for it again ma'am.
Narrator (Grace): While looking for the clothes, it was getting dark, Bawang Putih found an
old hut to spend the night.
Grandmother (Grace): Who are you son? What's going on at this time of night?
Bawang Putih (damar): my name is Bawang Putih, grandma. I'm looking for my mother's
clothes that were washed away in the river and now I need a place to spend the night. Can I
spend the night here, Grandma?
Grandmother (Grace) : Oh, that dress is yours? I have saved it. I will return it to you on one
condition. You must accompany me here for a few days.
Bawang Putih (damar): okay grandma, I agree as long as grandma wants to give me the
clothes.
Narrator (grace): When Bawang Putih went to the kitchen to peel the pumpkin given by the
grandmother earlier, Bawang Putih was so surprised when she found out that there were so
many gold gems in the pumpkin. Knowing this, the stepmother and Bawang Merah took the
gold from Bawang Putih.
Bawang Merah (Tino) : Bawang Putih, where did you get this gold?
Bawang Putih (damar) : I got this golden gem from a pumpkin given by a grandmother in the
middle of the forest when I was looking for mother's clothes.
Narrator (grace): After hearing the story from Bawang Putih, Bawang Merah wanted to find
the grandmother and The next morning Bawang Merah did the same thing as Bawang Putih
did.
Narrator (Grace): Several days Bawang Merah lived with the grandmother. all he does is
just lazing around and nothing good he does.
Bawang Merah : Grandma, I have been staying here with you for several days. Where's my
reward?
Narrator (Tino): Arriving home, Bawang Merah called her mother and happily showed her
the pumpkin. Onion's mother told Bawang Putih to wash clothes in the river, so that Bawang
Putih would not ask for her share.
Narrator (Tino): As soon as Bawang Putih was not at home, Mrs. Bawang Merah and her
daughter opened the pumpkin, but it turned out that what came out of the fruit was not gold
and jewels, but a large and very venomous snake which immediately attacked the
stepmother and Bawang Putih. Red until they finally died.
