Individually select and summarize five articles on one of the following key decision areas of
operations management; Design of goods and services, Managing quality, Process, and capacity
design, Location strategy, Layout strategy, Human resources, and job design, Supply chain
management, Inventory management, Scheduling, and Maintenance.
Suggestions
Review articles from the Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Supply
and Operations Management, International Journal of Services and Operations Management.
The articles should be UpToDate not later than 2020.
Weight: 20%
Deadline for paper submission: On October 30/2022.
Group Assignment (Max 5 Members)
Consider any organization (manufacturing or service) and try to understand their operations
on Product Design, Process and Capacity Design, Supply Chain Management, Scheduling,
Inventory management, and JIT.
Conceptualize the decision area (theoretical background about the topic), describe the actual
practice in the organization (in detail), analyze the theory-practice gap (in detail), and forward
conclusion and possible recommendations.
N.B. Conclusion and recommendations should be based on the theoretical framework indicated
in the report.

• Papers are to be typed, double-spaced with one-inch margins
• Papers should be error-free and mechanically correct (follow research methods)
• Font requirement is Times New Roman 12-point and Reference style APA 6
• Sufficient and recent references (e.g., articles, books, and others)

• Assignments that do not meet deadlines and the requirements will bear penalties and
shall not be considered.
