Conclusions

1. The hybrid metal matrix compositeAA2014 embedded with

B4C and SIC particles with 5%each is successfully
developed by stir casting process.
2. The stir casted AA2014 MMC is carred out NDT techniques
such as X-Ray radiography and DP test as per ASTM and
ASME standards, resulted there is no any internal and surface
defects
3. Macro etcthing is also carried out and there is no significant
detection of micro porosity
4. The stir casted block is carried out for microstructural studies
shous the dendritic structure where the dendrites are
considerably showing the Cu phases with in the Aluminum
matrix.
Future Work
The stir casted Al block is subjecting for Mechanical testing
(Tensile & Impact) and hardness testing, SEM and EDAX for
matrix particle detection and distribution, Wear test analysis
to estimate the wear resistance of the MMC and corrosion test
analysis for detection of corrosion resistance of the MMC
