Expanded measurement The expanded measurement uncertainty U is calculated as U = k·ucharacterisation,

Metrological traceability: This reference material is traceable to the corresponding NIST SRM 1922.
Measurement method: Brix value and refractive index determination were carried out by measurement
on an Abbe-type refractometer at a wavelength of 589.3 nm at 20°C.
Intended use: This reference material is intended for use as a calibration standard of
refractometers which provide measurement results in degrees Brix.
Instructions for handling Shake well before use. A new ampoule has to be used for each series of mea-
and correct use: surements. Open the ampoule at the point of break marked. Use a clean and
suitable pipette, e.g. Pasteur pipette or glass/plastic syringe, then draw up the
solution and place it on the cleaned measuring surface of the refractometer.
