WHMIS 2015 Training Certificate

Employer’s Responsibilities

Make sure the training is satisfactory

It is your responsibility under the Hazardous Products Regulations (WHMIS 2015) to make sure each
employee who works with or near hazardous products is trained about the hazards of the products,
how to use them safely, and what to do if something goes wrong.

The WHMIS 2015 Online course covers the topics listed on the certificate below. You are required to
train employees about the hazards, safe handling and emergency procedures for the specific
hazardous products in the workplace.

Complete and sign the certificate

There is no legal requirement for you to issue a certificate to your employees, but if you choose to
do so, fill in the details below. The expiry date is optional, as the regulations do not specify a time
period for retraining. There is a place for you to sign and for the employee to sign.

List additional topics or details of training

Add any additional WHMIS-related training on the back of the certificate.

Keep a record of training

It’s a good idea to keep this page for your records. If you are questioned by a government inspector
about WHMIS training for your employees, you will be able to produce a record of the date and
content of the training program.

Print the certificate

We recommend printing the certificate in colour on card stock. Cut the certificate out and fold it
in half.
