SUBJECT: GMRC 1

TOPICS: Special Person

MATERIALS: GMRC Book

PERFORMANCE STANDARD: The learner will be able to accept each other’s


differences.

LEARNING COMPETENCIES : The learner is able to:

a. Understand the differences between living and non-living things;


b. Realize what can they do at a very young age to improve their selves;
c. Appreciate the things they have that the animals and others don’t have.
d. Give importance in all living and non-living creatures.

I. Introduction
1.0 The students will be asked a question.
* Are you special? Are we special? Why?
The students may answer in chorus.
The teacher will show a picture of an animal and a tree and a boy.
The teacher then will ask the students a question.
*what have you noticed?

II. Interaction
1.0 Based on a given activity the students will have an idea what is the
difference between the pictures being shown earlier.
The teacher then will let the students identify what are the differences
and the special aspects or feature of a certain picture.
Example:
* The student will say “the animal has 4 legs while the tree doesn’t
have and the boy has 2 legs.”
1.1 The teacher will guide the students to read a certain passage in the
book.
After reading the teacher will ask a question about the passage.
* What is the reading about?
* Who created us?
* Why are we special?
1.2 The students together with the teacher will read a certain Poem in the
book “If I were a Butterfly". The teacher will unlock some words after
reading the poem. Follow up questions will be followed.
* What can you say about the Poem?
*Do you like it?
*what are the animals being mentioned in the poem?
III. Integration
1.0 Pairing Activity
Students will be group by three and each group will be paired with a
student who knows how to read and they will practice reading the
Poem “If I were a Butterfly”

*In this activity the students will develop being sociable and helpful to
each other by sharing their skills.

1.1 Oral reading


Students will be called by the teacher one by one and they will read at
least 1 to 2 stanzas in the poem.

1.2 Independent Practice


Student will write a short prayer to thank god. It could be written in
English, Tagalog or Cebuano as long as it came from them.

*Note: The time for GMRC is 30 mins. In the morning and 20 mins. In
the afternoon.
