Reading is Power

What is reading? What is your understanding of reading? How could man change his life
by reading? Dr. Seuss, the American children’s author and cartoonist once said, “The more you
read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.” I definitely
agree to this line because I do think having the ability to read is power and you can use that
power to change your life, but in what way? As you go through this essay, you will understand
ways on how a man’s life can change through reading and why reading is power.

I can give you reasons and explanations on how could man change his life by reading.
First, it makes you knowledgeable enough, second, it can make you excel in school, the last one
it gives you entertainment. Are you knowledgeable enough? No one can take advantage of you,
no one can make you sign an important paper without knowing what’s in that paper or how
important is that paper. How about in school? If you know how to read, you can understand your
lesson, and if you can understand, you can answer a question. Understanding is the first step to
excel in academics. Reading can bring joy to yourself, you can travel without spending a penny,
because the more pages you flip, the more places you will reach. Imagine that? Can you imagine
how magical reading can be? You’re just sitting and holding a book in that one corner of your
room but you’re already in a place where no one around know where you are.

Now have you found the answer of your why? If you’re still looking for it, let me tell you
this. Do you remember this statement, “Education is the key to success.” Education involves
reading so reading is also the key to your success. Success can change a man’s life, your success
can take you to different places. Other than that, you can defend yourself from those people who
want to take advantage of your reading ability. Strive harder, learn more, and make yourself the
best reader in your own point of view. Upgrade your power and use the key that I mentioned to
open the door of success. Indeed, reading is power. So use this power to change your life and be
of help to others.
