Product line: Lineator™ Passive Harmonic Filter

Range of application:Chiller with VFD starter

1. Which models does it apply to?

Answer: It applies to following low voltage chiller and its derived & modified models
HTS
HTV
ZUWV
HXE (Daikin)

2. What is the definition of passive harmonic filter?

Answer: Passive filter, also known as the LC filter, it is a filter circuit which is designed by
using the combination of the inductor and capacitor. Passive Harmonic Filter can filter out
specific wave time harmonic, it is suitable for our variable frequency starting cabinet.

3. What certifications does passive harmonic filter have?

Answer: UL, CE Certification

4. Is there any requirement of operating environment?

Answer:
1) Installation location: Indoor, no regular heavy vibration, no direct sunlight, no rain
2) Altitude: 0 to 1000 meters. Over 1000 meters, current output capacity derating1% for
every 100 meters.
3) Operation ambient temperature: -5 to +40℃, as environment temperature of FILTER
panel.

5. Is there any requirement of storage?

Answer:
1) Stored in an environment which is dry, ventilated and without exposure.
2) Storage temperature: -8 to +55℃.
3) Relative humidity: The humidity should not be exceed 95%

6. How is the functional performance and reliability of passive harmonic

filter?
1) Load capacity: 105% - for a long time; 150% - 60 seconds per 10 minutes
2) Efficiency:≥99%
3) Protection function: over current protection, short circuit protection, high temperature
protection(≤180℃)
4) electrical life:The machine is not less than 50000 hours (repair and maintenance of
the machine)
5) Way to install:Floor mount
6) Input & Output Entrance: Top In and Top Out

1/2
7) Gradation for surface pollution: Level 2 with no conductive dust, non-corrosive, no
combustible gas, no oil mist and salt.
8) Earthquake intensity: 7 magnitude fortification.
9) Input power: rated voltage±10%, voltage imbalance is≤1%, background voltage
distortion≤0.5%,
10) Input frequency: rated frequency±2%.

7. What are the main components of the passive harmonic filter?

1) Reactor: The Filter will present a high impedance to line side harmonics, thus
eliminating the possibility of attracting harmonics from upstream non-linear loads. It
also provides a low pass circuit for harmonics; therefore the most part of the
harmonics will not be back to the grid.
2) Capacitor:McQuay Filter uses dry-type Aluminum case capacitor made by ASC in
USA. As a passive component, it constitutes low pass circuit with reactor, and filters
most part of the harmonics to ensure current distortion level meet IEEE 519
standards.
