Applying for a study programme abroad may
seem complicated, but don’t worry. Our Student
Administration (STAD) is here to help you with the
application procedure and our International Office
can assist you in acquiring your visa and

How to apply
You apply for a study programme at Hanze University of Applied
Sciences, Groningen through Studielink. After starting your
application you will receive full instructions on how to complete
your application.
Application deadlines
Our academic year starts on 1 September and ends on 31
August. The application deadlines are:
Students needing a visa (non-EU/EEA) 1 June
Students not needing a visa (EU/EEA) 15 August
Certain programmes have alternative application procedures
and deadlines. For more information about the application

Entry requirements
Admission to a programme is based on your prior education
and additional diplomas. For several programmes you must
also meet certain language requirements, participate in a
matching procedure or write a motivation letter. For more

Language requirements
Students applying for an English-taught programme must
prove their proficiency in English. For more information about
the required level for your programme, please visit

Visas
Students from certain non-EU/EEA countries need a visa to
enter the Netherlands. Our International Office can assist you
in successfully arranging your visa, as long as you meet all
the necessary requirements. For more information, please
