No, because the works of Jose Rizal contributed and has a great impact to the current standing
of our country Philippines. It is only right that the student and teachers as well as the people of the
Philippines to learn and know the great ideas of Jose Rizal about nationalism, patriotism and
volunteerism.

Nationalism is being proud and loyal to one’s country that leads to attain the freedom and
political independence of it. Patriotism on the other hand is the devotion and love for a country such as
dedicating and readiness to sacrifice your life for a nation. Lastly, volunteerism is the act or practice of
intentionally helping the country.

The teaching of Rizal’s course helps us to understand what nationalism, patriotism and
volunteerism is. Through Jose Rizal’s life we can learn how he face various challenges in his life.
Displaying that you can show your love to your country without using violence or any weapon. He
encountered serious dilemma and predicament in his life, but Jose Rizal responded decently and high
mindedly. Through his works he awakened and triggered the Nationalism of the Filipino. Because the
love of the Filipinos in their country awakened, most of them are willing to die just to be free from the
Spanish Colonial. On the day of the execution of the GomBurZa, we can say that the Filipinos show their
nationalism and patriotism.
