PART 1
INTRODUCTION
The Subject dealt with providing the strategic framework to analyse the design, planning and
operations decision within supply chain that helps clarify supply chain goals and identify
managerial actions that improve supply chain performance. The content includes elements of
supply chain; demand forecasting, network design, inventory management and performance
Measurement. This course will expose students to the challenges involved in managing supply
chains and understand the complexity of inter-firm and intra-firm coordination.

COURSE OBJECTIVES (CO)


The course aims at providing insights into:

1- To describe the fundamentals of Supply Chain Management and its applications


2- Develop a sound understanding of the important role of supply chain management in
today’s business environment
3- To demonstrate importance of supply chain in the Business Operations
4- To analyze the application of various supply chain concepts in the Industry.
5- To evaluate performance measures for Supply Chain Networks in organizations
6- Understand the application and limitations of simple decision rules in the context of
supply chain analysis in the real world and effectively communicate the relevance of
supply chain problems and solutions to the business leaders
The course on SCM covers the manufacturing and services sector such as Automotive, FMCG
Healthcare and Retail etc.

At the end of this course, students would be able to:

* Project Details –
The project topic will be allocated to the student groups; the project will be based on supply
chain issues that organisations might be facing or study of contemporary happenings in supply
chain domain. Project will be completed in three phases
Phase one: Introduction and need of the study, Problem Formulation
Phase two: Relevant literature study and reporting, Data collection
Phase 3 : Analysis, Results, Discussion and report writing.
