 Summary text
Arrow of God is Chinua Achebe's second great novel. The action
takes place after the First World War, in Ibo country. At the center
of the work: the enterprise of dispossession of Africa by the
colonial power. Through the dramatic conflicts between the high
priest of Ulu, Ezeulu, and the British captain T.K. Winterbottom,
that is to say the traditional power and culture of Africa and the
alienating power of the West, c It is the agony of a world that is
evoked here. A great classic of English-speaking Negro-African
