What to Include in an Arbitration Demand

An arbitration demand should be drafted clearly and sufficiently, while incorporating all of the
case’s pertinent facts. There is no set structure or format for a demand, although it is prudent to
include, at a minimum, the following:
(1) The names of all parties involved in the dispute
(2) A succinct, straightforward statement of facts, in chronological order
(3) A quote containing the exact language of the arbitration clause, or an attachment with
a copy of the clause
(4) A statement of the claim or claims, and how they relate to the contract and the
arbitration clause
(5) A statement of the relief sought
