1. Campsite
Meaning: The area in which you set up your tent, cooking
equipment, etc.

Meaning: A designated
area where you can build a
fire
How to use it: “Don’t put
your tent too close to the
fire pit or it might catch on
fire!”

3. Tent
Meaning: A portable, collapsible shelter made of fabric

a. Tent body: this part


includes the floor and the
fabric top, also known as the
outer tent.

b. Rain fly: This is the waterproof cover that allows rain to run
off the sides of the outer tent. It also resists winds thereby keeping
the tent protected.
c. Tent Poles
The tent poles are what hold up
the outer tent. They form the
frame and give a stable structure
to the tent.

d. Tent pole sleeves or clips


Tent pole sleeves or clips are
used to attach the tent poles to
the outer tent. These can be
found on the tent body.
e. Guy lines
A guy line is a cord attached
to the outer tent that is
further anchored in the
ground to add stability to the
tent to withstand windy
conditions.

f. Tent pegs:(or tent stake) is a spike,


usually with a hook or hole on the top end,
pushed or driven into the ground for
holding a tent to the ground.
f. Tie out points :Tie out
points can be found on the
rain fly to attach the guy
lines. These guy lines are
then anchored to the
ground using tent pegs.

g. Vents
Vents allow moisture to escape the tent, thus reducing the
amount of condensation that builds up on the inside of the
rainfly.
h. Bug netting: prevents insects from entering the sleeping area.

Steps to set up a tent:


- Remove sticks, stones or debris… on the ground (dọn sạch
que, sỏi đá, mảnh vỡ, … nơi dựng lều)
- Lay down the tarp (trải tấm vải bạt ra)
- Stretch the tent body across the tarp (căng thân lều qua tấm vải
bạt)
- Drive pegs straight into the ground, hook facing out, and
pound it completely down. (đóng pegs thẳng xuống đất, móc
quay ra ngoài, nện hoàn toàn xuống)
- Unfold pole segments (tháo các khúc pole ra)
- Insert the longest (or main) poles into the
sleeves on the outside of the tent. (lồng
những poles chính vào ống nằm bên ngoài
lều)

- Slowly raise one of the main tent poles to elevate the tent. (từ
từ kéo 1 trong các poles chính để dựng lều lên)
- Repeat with the cross pole, then the additional support poles
until the tent is fully popped up and accessible. (tiếp tục lặp lại
với pole ngang, sau đó là poles phụ cho tới khi lều hoàn toàn
được dựng lên và có thể sử dụng được)
- Drape the rainfly across the top of the tent. (phủ tấm rainfly lên

also called a flashlight.

5. Water Bottle
Meaning: a container used for carrying water.
6. Backpack
Meaning: A bag worn on your back to carry food, supplies, etc.

7. Bug spray
Meaning: A chemical sprayed on the skin to protect oneself from
insect bites.

8. Sunscreen
Meaning: a substance that you put on your skin to prevent it from
being damaged by the sun
