1. Use safety and protective devices in accordance with prescribed
procedures
Conduct of briefing at the classroom before the exercise.
 Briefing shall cover the “Competence, K.U.P. and the I.L.O.” required by
the STCW as amended.
Briefing  The briefing also includes the duration of exercise, equipment to be
used, scenario description, initial condition/s and the performance
criteria.
 Accomplish and sign the “Briefing Checklist” provided.

- The Instructor will monitor the trainees’ performance as per
performance criteria.
