Stockholm Syndrome

Stockholm Syndrome is a term popular in psychology that describes a defensive-

unconscious traumatic relationship of mutual or one-sided sympathy that arises
between the victim and the aggressor in the process of capture, abduction and /
or the use of threat or violence. Under the influence of strong emotion,
hostages begin to sympathize with their captors, justify their actions and
ultimately identify with them, adopting their ideas and considering their
sacrifice necessary to achieve a “common” goal.

Due to the apparent paradoxical nature of the psychological phenomenon, the

term "Stockholm Syndrome" has become widely popular. The authorship of the
term "Stockholm Syndrome" is attributed to the criminologist Niels Beyeroth,
who coined it during an analysis of the situation that arose in Stockholm during
the August 1973 hostage-taking. The hostages defended their captors after their
release and did not agree to testify against them in court. The psychological
defense mechanism underlying the Stockholm syndrome was first described by
Anna Freud in 1936, when it received the name "identification with the
aggressor."

My favorite sport
My favorite sport is archery. From childhood I was fond of this sport, I was
impressed by how the athletes hit the target. Archery is a sport in which you
shoot a bow with arrows for accuracy or range. The winner is the athlete or
team that scores the most points according to the competition rules. Olympic
sport since 1900. The largest international archery competitions are held for
various types of bows both indoors (18 meters) and outdoors (30, 50, 60, 70, 90
meters). Distances measured in meters are standard at international
competitions.
Shooting is carried out in series of three or six arrows. According to World
Archery standards, a 3-arrow series is given 2 minutes, and a 6-arrow series is 4
minutes.
Much attention must be paid to safety, as the sport bow is a potentially deadly
weapon. It is better for an inexperienced person not to even try to pull the
string. It is forbidden to point a bow (even without arrows) at people. It is
forbidden to shoot straight up anywhere. It is allowed to start shooting and
follow arrows to the targets only at the command of the referees or persons in
charge of the training.
Shooting is carried out at standard World Archery targets. Paper targets are
made of concentric circles of different colors. Dimensions are shown in the
table. The size of the target for the Olympic distance of 70 meters is 122 cm.
