Reflection

This lesson plan utilizes multiple disciplines through my U.S. Comprehensive Studies

course and Psychology Course. I believe this unit will provide students with a chance to apply

different disciplines and information to each other. I utilized a reading and comprehension skill,

kinesthetic learning and art with history, and psychology and physiology-exercise. I had a lot of

fun performing this unit, because it gave me a chance to step away from my traditional mode of

teaching students. Also, through these different modalities of learning I was able to provide

differentiation for different Tiered Learners. I believe this unit provided opportunities for all

Tiered learners the ability to master knowledge. This unit provides many hands on activities that

provide students with an opportunity of a direct experience. Many times I believe student

engagement is limited due to this lack on direct experience. In this direct experience with hands

on activities I believe the weakness of the unit was certain Tier 3 learners were not able to

participate fully. One of my students is handicapped physically and there not able to participate

in chalk assignment and were limited in exercise lesson. In this weakness I came up with the

proper alternatives for this student. I was upset because I never want a student to feel left out, but

I received feedback from this specific student that they had fun with the lesson, which is a

positive. In future teaching of this lesson I will do my best to be more creative for theses

students.
