Dead Poets Society is a 1989 American drama film directed by Peter Weir, written by Tom Schulman,

and starring Robin Williams. Set in 1959 at the fictional elite conservative boarding school Welton
Academy, it tells the story of an English teacher who inspires his students through his teaching of poetry.

The main character of this film is Neil Perry which was played by Robert Sean Leonard. A new English
teacher, John Keating, is introduced to an all-boys preparatory school that is known for its ancient
traditions and high standards. He uses unorthodox methods to reach out to his students, who face
enormous pressures from their parents and the school. With Keating's help, Neil Perry (Robert Sean
Leonard), Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke) and others learn to break out of their shells, pursue their
dreams and seize the day.

The aesthetic of Dead Poets Society is breathtaking, from the soundtrack to cinematography, everything
is literally perfect! Not forget to mention about the casts, the fact that the casts were basically around
my age, and was passing through the same dilemmas and situations I was facing made it all so much
more powerful and relatable to watch. My favourite part is when they say ‘Carpe Diem!’.
I found this film very interesting. I think it should be seen not only by the book lovers but also by anyone
especially indecisive teenagers that are struggling with growing up. Trust me, it’s unlike anything you’ve
seen before. It might change your as it has many appealing words.
