6 RIVA: good morning children! How are you today, I’m teacher Riva and I’m teacher Frelyn and we are here

7 today to help you learn amazing things in our English subject! This lesson is for grade 2, again its grade 2 english.

8 Frelyn: are you all excited to learn new lesson in English? To start our lesson we need to prepare three things.

9 First, prepare yourself ,be sure that you are in comfortable area, second, get our English module week 1, and

10 lastly prepare your pen and paper.

11 Riva; that’s it! I think we are all ready to begin our English class!

12 Frelyn: yes! Teacher riva im excited for our topic today!whats our topic for today teacher?

13 Riva: our lesson for today is about Reading Words with Short e, a, i, o and u in CVC Pattern.

14 Frelyn: After going through this module, you are expected to read words with short e, a, i, o, and u in CVC

15 pattern.

16 Riva: let’s begin with reading the short story entitled my pet dog in our module page 5.

17 Frelyn: my pet dog, Pat is my pet dog. Pat likes to run and catch a ball. I take Pat to the park every day.

18 Riva: class,we will read the question and write the answers on your paper.

19 Frelyn: I have a pet________. A. cat, b. pig and c. dog Whats your answer? Yes! That right! The answer is dog.

20 Riva: number 2,pat likes to _______. A. swim B. run and catch a ball and c. eat. What is Your answer?correct!

21 letter B is the answer. He likes to run and catch a ball.

22 Frelyn: number 3, I take Pat to the _______ a. vet b. farm c. park. Whats the anwer? Good! Its letter C.
23 Riva: wow great job kids now we’re ready to learn the CVC words! First what is the CVC word. Frelyn: CVC

24 words follow the pattern ’consonant-vowelconsonant’ sound. They are a great starting point in allowing you to

25 practice combining individual letter sounds together to create meaningful words.

26 Riva: the C in the CVC means Consonants, the consonants letters are b,c,d,g,h,j,k,l,m,n,p,q,r,s,t,v,w,x,y.

27 Frelyn: and V means vowels or the a,e,i,o,u. lets take a look on page 8 of our modules.

28 Riva: in your modules we can see the example on how to form a word using the CVC pattern.

29 Frelyn: that’s right teacher riva! On the first example we can see that the first consonant is letter C with the sound

30 “c” the vowel is letter A “a” and the last consonants is letter T. so C’A’T or the CAT.

31 RIVA:the second example is the consonant F’, vowel O and consonant X or the F”O”X” FOX.

32 Frelyn: and the example is the consonant L’L’ ,vowel E and consonant G. L”E”G or LEG.

33 Riva: very good kids, always remember we just need one consonant as the first letter, one vowel at the center and

34 another consonant as the last letter.

35 Frelyn: that right teacher riva! I think you can read with us the examples of the words in CVC Pattern,page 8, lets

36 start with short a. cat, mat, ham, jam,pan.

37 Riva: short e sound, bed, red, met, pet, set!

38 Frelyn: short I, pin,fin,pig,wig, tip.

39 Riva; short o, cob,mob, hog, jog, cop.

40 Frelyn:And last is the short u” rug,tug,mug,hug,run.

41 Riva:excellent kids! Its very easy to read right! Give yourself 5 claps for reading with us the CVC words.

42 Frelyn: In our module page 10, again page 10, we will give the name of the pictures in the box.

43 Riva: we will give you 2 minutes to write down the name of the pictures.

44 Frelyn: times up, its time for us to check your work.

45 Riva: for our 1st picture, it is a rat, run or rug? (pause) excellent! It a rat!
46 Frelyn: on the second picture beside the rat, what it is? It is a net, wig or jam? Wow! Good job guys it’s a wig!!

47 Riva: our third picture is the one below the rat,.do you know what it is? A mat,mum or mug? Bravo! It’s a mug.

48 Frelyn: and the last picture, it is a pin, a box or a mug? Yes! It is a box.

49 Riva: wow kids! Great job, lets do another activity on page 14, again on page 14. What you need to do is to write

50 the name of the picture on your notebook, choose from the word below the pictures.

51 Frelyn: will give you 3 minutes to answer, hi kids! Time is up! Its time for us to check your work.

52 Riva: number 1, is the sun. S_U_N, number 2, it is a BUN. And number 3 A GUN.

53 Frelyn: for number 4, it’s a NUN, number 5, run and last number 6, is fun.

54 Riva: again the answers are : sun, bun, gun, nun, run and fun.

55 Frelyn: how many correct answer do you have kids! Wow! That’s good hear, you can tell nanay to text your score

56 on us.

57 Riva: great kids!we know very well that you know how to read the cvc words.again what is the cvc word?

58 Frelyn; teacher riva the CVC word is made up of consonant, vowel, consonant sounds.

59 Riva: with the help of your mama,papa, brother and sister please read the CVC words listed on page 13, it will

60 help you to become a great reader and to learn more CVC words.

61 Frelyn: that’s right maam riva! practice makes perfect, and with that I know for sure you can answer with

62 confident our activity on page 12 and 16, again kids, you need to answer the activity on page 12 and 16.

63 Riva: you will write your answer on the answer sheet provided to be submitted on Friday . for questions and
