Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the rate of teenage pregnancy cases in PNHS students and their
reasons in this engagement.

This study specifically answers the following questions:

1. What is the rate of teenage pregnancy cases in PNHS?


2. What are the respondents’ reasons of having involved in this case?
3. What are the respondents’ coping strategies in situation?

Scope and Delimitation

The main focus of this study is the rate of teenage pregnancy cases among students of PNHS and
their reasons in this engagement.

This study is limited to identify the reasons uses of the respondents why they are in this
situation and their coping strategies.

The respondents of this study are the students of PNHS who have experienced teenage
pregnancy.

This study will be conducted in the First Semester of the School Year 2019-2020.

Significance of the Study


Definition of terms/terminologies

 Teenage Pregnancy – refers to the female adolescents becoming pregnant between the ages
13-19.
 Premarital Sex – is a sexual activity practiced by people before they are married.
 Abortion – is the ending of a pregnancy by removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus before it
can survive outside the uterus.
 Fertilization – is the fusion of gametes to initiate the development of a new individual organism
or offspring.
 Contraceptive – a device or drug serving to prevent pregnancy.
 Rate – a measure, quantity or frequency one measured against some other quantity or measure.
 Pregnancy – the condition or period of being pregnant.
 Teenager – denoting a person between 13 and 19 years old.
 WHO(World Health Organization) – is a specialized agency that is concerned with international
public health.
