    A urine culture was performed for 49-year-old female patient Mrs. C Kalavathi. The culture found a colony count of over 105 cfu/ml of Escherichia coli bacteria. The E. coli was found to be sensitive to Meropenem, Imipenem, Fosfomycin, Nitrofurantoin but resistant to Piperacillin+Tazobactam, Doxycycline, Levofloxacin, Moxifloxacin and other antibiotics. A note explained that asymptomatic bacteriuria (positive urine culture without infection symptoms) often indicates sample contamination and does not require treatment except under special conditions like pregnancy.
