The 5S is a technique for creating and maintaining a high-quality working
environment in a company. With the use of this technique, the site may be managed to produce a product with fewer flaws and to be an orderly, disciplined, and tidy environment to work. Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain are the first four letters of the five-step process, which is abbreviated as 5S. In Sort, less clutter means that fewer hazards, so decide what is necessary and remove anything else. Storing unneeded stuff takes time and money. Set in order is the step where you organize everything. Everything should be easy to find and visible. In Shine, it is more effective to clean as you go than to clean up later. Working in a tidy setting is safer. Eliminate dirt and trash from the start. Keep equipment and tools in excellent working condition. Standardize, so that it may be repeated and improved without wasting time, create standard ways to maintain a clean and organized life. Find what works, then implement it. Everything gets simpler to procure, replace, support, train, and maintain. Reduces work, confusion, and time wasted. One of the most challenging 5S goals to complete is Sustain. The idea of Sustain places an emphasis on the capacity to establish a workplace with discipline and healthy habits, such that 5S's advantages continue. Basically, every person in the organization should be active in creating changes daily and throughout the entire institution.
